Welcome to 7th Grade!
This year in science we will be studying life and living things. Please use this website as a class resource.

This year in life science we will focus on:
Small stuff: We will learn about small molecules like water. We will also talk about small (but important!) molecules in our bodies like carbohydrates, lipids (fats), and DNA!
Bigger small stuff: We will talk about cells and all of the different parts that make them up, including how all of the "small stuff" come into play. We will also talk about genetics and inheritance (different traits that you get from your parents), and how cells divide and multiply to make up the various systems in the human body.
Big stuff: We will talk about the various body systems that make up humans, as well as body processes. We will also talk about plants and plant structure.
REALLY Big stuff: We will also address ecosystems (focusing especially on the Chesapeake Bay), food webs, and population dynamics. We will also talk about environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation and climate change.
